A heavy-duty cab has specific upholstery constraints
A truck seat or cab element may be used for several hours a day, exposed to repeated entry and exit, rubbing, dirt and changing temperatures. The right solution therefore depends on actual use as much as on the desired appearance.
Identify the areas that wear first
Seat bolsters, cushion edges, armrests, handles, door panels or bunks can all wear differently. Photos and an understanding of the driver's position help distinguish surface wear from a foam or support problem.
Repair one element or restore the whole cab
- repair a seam or panel when the structure is still sound;
- rework deformed foam to recover more even support;
- replace a covering that has become too fragile;
- harmonise several elements when the interior needs a consistent appearance.
Choose a material suited to professional daily use
The covering needs to feel comfortable, withstand the expected wear and suit the planned cleaning routine. Colour, grain and sheen should be compared with preserved parts so new and old elements do not look disconnected.
Prepare a project for one vehicle or a fleet
For a professional, it helps to group the vehicle references, the elements involved, the quantities and any downtime constraints. This preparation allows the workshop to assess logistics and propose a realistic scope of work.
