Professional upholstery quotes: what information should you provide?

Photos, quantities, use, material and timing: the information that helps an upholstery workshop assess a professional project efficiently.

A useful upholstery quote starts with a useful brief

A workshop can guide a professional more accurately when the request describes the elements, their use and the expected result. The first exchange does not need to be perfectly technical; it simply needs to identify the project and the questions that need clarifying.

Photograph the elements from several angles

Photos should show the whole piece, worn areas, fixings and stitching details. A wide view explains the shape, while close-ups show tears, deformation, rubbing and differences in material.

State the quantities and the use

  • number of seats, panels, cushions or elements;
  • daily, intensive, outdoor, transport or public-facing use;
  • parts already removed or still installed;
  • whether the goal is a faithful reproduction, an improvement or a new design.

Describe materials and constraints

If a material is already specified, include its reference or send a sample. Otherwise, describe the important constraints: cleanability, moisture, abrasion, comfort, originality or consistency with an existing series.

Do not forget logistics

The quote also depends on how the elements reach the workshop and return. Mention approximate dimensions, the departure location, dismantling constraints and the desired timing. A carrier may be considered when the project allows it.

For an initial assessment, send your brief through the contact page with the photos and information you already have.

A project in mind?

Tell us about the materials, the element to restore and the use you have in mind. The workshop will help you choose the right approach.
